Douglas Musyoki has been painting professionally for over two decades and is well collected both locally and internationally and more so locally. One of the pioneering resident artists of kuona trust Nairobi based studio from when it was in the national museums of Kenya .
He has exhibited and participated in many exhibitions and group exhibitions including frequently in the National museums of Kenya’s art festival and other group exhibitions, Ramoma’s art affair and other group exhibitions, One off gallery group shows, little art gallery and others internationally.
His warm palette, intricate oil laying technique, vibrant undertones that give his canvas a textual feel, his comforting and often embracing human characters also continue in portraying this warmth and has distinguished himself from the other artists. His subjects have consistently been the long African robbed ‘ friends ‘ in their usual chores and mary making. There is unusual naivety to these subjects who seem gifted with a utopian world full of music, sunny, calming days and playful birds. This has attracted various organizations and collectors to have a collection of his artworks over the years.
